At the age of 63, this good man with sober habits is in great health. Combine that with a stelar CV of one achievement after another, attesting to both talent and unrelenting application, it is obvious that this man, who continuously learns from his substantial accumulating experience, is at the peak of his powers. He should be making even greater contributions, rather than be in semi-retirement. He epitomizes what inspires us at EVR – we unreservedly commend him to any discerning client. With a relatively modest National Diploma in Structural Engineering from Salisbury Polytechnic, he went on to more than make his mark as a Construction (and Engineering) Project Manager, while making a substantial contribution to the standards and practices adopted by his employers. Coupled with his hands-on experience with constructability challenges, he has the talent, care and competence to manage projects from front end design to commissioning – first making a telling difference to its conceptualisation, then diligently ensuring detailed quality in execution. He is passionate about his work and the unique challenges of every project has provided continued job satisfaction. The Laratong Hospital Training Centre and the Sun International Lost City Project were early feathers in his cap, while at Grinaker. Yet, reflecting his humanity, he values as highly the positive impact on communities in West Africa that the projects he later led had. This happened during his twenty-five years in the service of AngloGoldAshanti, which was the centre of gravity of his career. His many experiences as expat in Africa and with their EPCM project office have no doubt contributed greatly to making him an accomplished construction project manager.
